Charles Omole, a lawyer and former aide to former House of Representatives Speaker, Femi Gbajabiamila, has spoken on claims surrounding former First Lady, Aisha Buhari, during the administration of her late husband, former President Muhammadu Buhari.
PrimeTimes Nigeria reports that Omole made the comments in an interview with Edmund Obilo, where he spoke about reports of tension between Aisha Buhari and some people within the former president’s close political circle while he was in office.
He said that during that period, there were claims that the former First Lady had a difficult relationship with some individuals around the presidency. He also repeated what he described as her personal concerns at the time.
According to him, Aisha Buhari once said she felt she was experiencing spiritual attacks during her stay in the Presidential Villa. He added that there were also concerns about her safety at some point, which he said led to her temporarily leaving the Villa.
Omole stated that the former First Lady was disturbed by some of the experiences she claimed to have faced while she lived in Aso Villa as the wife of the president.
“Some people within the former president’s inner political circle did not have a smooth relationship with Aisha Buhari while she was in Aso Villa,” Charles Omole said during the interview.
“She once said she felt she was experiencing spiritual attacks during that period,” he added.
“There were concerns about her personal safety at some point, and she temporarily left the Presidential Villa,” he also said.
“She was deeply troubled by some of the experiences she said she went through while she was First Lady,” he noted.
