Fresh tragedy has struck parts of Katsina State after armed bandits reportedly killed no fewer than 11 people during a violent attack on rural communities. Among the victims were a security operative and a pregnant woman, leaving residents in deep fear and mourning.

According to local reports, the attackers stormed the affected area late at night, firing sporadically and setting parts of the community into panic. Residents said the heavily armed men invaded homes, forcing many families to flee into nearby bushes for safety. Several people sustained injuries while properties were also destroyed during the raid.
Eyewitnesses revealed that the pregnant woman was allegedly caught while trying to escape the violence, while the slain security operative was said to have confronted the attackers during an attempt to protect residents. Community members described the incident as one of the deadliest attacks recorded in the area in recent weeks.
The latest killings have once again raised concerns over the worsening insecurity in northern Nigeria, especially in rural communities frequently targeted by bandit groups. Many residents are now calling on the Federal Government and security agencies to intensify operations against criminal gangs terrorizing villages across Nigeria.

Security authorities are yet to release a full official statement on the casualty figures, but local vigilante groups and residents confirmed that several families have already begun burying their loved ones. The attack has also forced many villagers to abandon their homes over fears of another invasion.
The incident adds to the growing number of deadly bandit attacks reported across the North-West region, where kidnappings, killings, and village raids continue to threaten lives and livelihoods.
