Nollywood actress Chioma Akpotha is singing the praises of her colleague and friend, Ufuoma McDermott, as she turns a new age today.
In a lengthy Instagram post, se described Ufuoma as a friend turned sister, blood and family. She noted how the celebrant has been with her through seasons, laughter, conversations, moments of strength, and unspoken understanding.
She noted how Ufuoma has remained genuine over the years. She described the celebrant as rare, intentional in love, resourceful in ways that inspire, and effortlessly bringing light and laughter wherever she goes. She praised her for her humour, her heart, and her presence, which has a way of making people feel safe.
Raining prayers on her, she wrote,
“Friend turned sister, sister turned blood… and over time, family in the truest sense of it all
Ufuoma, some people come into your life and quietly become part of your heart, and that is exactly who you are to me. Through seasons, laughter, conversations, moments of strength, and even unspoken understanding, you have remained one of the most genuine souls I know.
You are kind in a rare, intentional way, resourceful in ways that inspire, and effortlessly bring light and laughter wherever you go. Your humour carries warmth, your heart carries depth, and your presence has a way of making people feel safe, seen, and valued.
Today, I celebrate not just your birthday, but the gift that you are, the blessing your life continues to be, and the grace that rests upon you.

Last year, Ufuoma expressed gratitude to her Maker for the life she has lived, despite her life-threatening health challenge. She expressed gratitude for being healthy and not appearing sick to the public
Recall that in 2023, she hinted about her illness when she celebrated her birthday by sharing a testimony on how God saved her life. She disclosed how God saved her family from the mental preparation of losing her.
Also, during a sit-down with media personality Chude Jideonwo, the mother of two opened up about the life-challenging moments she has encountered over the past twelve years. She disclosed how she lost her younger brother to chronic kidney disease and how she herself was diagnosed with the same ailment.
