Tragedy in Adamawa: Pastor Shot Dead as Police Recover AK-47 Shells

Pastor Emmanuel Ezeoikwe was shot and died in Zinal village, Song Local Government Area, Adamawa State.

The event happened at the victim’s home early on Tuesday.

The Adamawa State Police Command spokesperson, SP Suleiman Nguroje, confirmed the death in a statement on Thursday, stating that the attack was reported to the police at approximately 6:30 am. 

The Command was notified at approximately 6:30 a.m. on April 21, 2026, that the victim had been shot by suspected gunmen who had entered the village at 12:48 a.m. on the same day.

Police officers from the Command quickly arrived at the scene after receiving the report, discovered the victim’s lifeless corpse, and transported him to a hospital. 

The statement stated, “He was, however, confirmed dead by a medical doctor, while the corpse was placed at the hospital morgue for autopsy.”

Three empty AK-47 shells were found at the scene, he said.

The command has started looking into the incident, according to the police spokesperson. 

He claims that Kabir Hassan, the Commissioner of Police, has authorized a covert inquiry and sent out tactical squads to find the offenders.

He asked the people to maintain composure and offer helpful information to support the probe.
