Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Joe Igbokwe, has described supporters of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) as clueless kids who should be tamed and trained.
PrimeTimes Nigeria reports that Igbokwe made the remark in a post on his official Facebook page while reacting to the peaceful protest at the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC headquarters in Abuja on Wednesday by the ADC members and supporters.
Recall that during the protest aimed at expressing grievance over INEC’s position on the leadership crisis rocking the ADC, some of the party’s supporters were heard chanting Tinubu must go.
In response, Igbokwe questioned why Tinubu, who is yet to complete his first term in office, should quit his job.
He wrote, “I saw some street urchins and touts shouting Tinubu must go, Tinubu must go. Has Tinubu finished his 4-year term in office?
“These ADC clueless kids should be tamed and trained. The boys do not know that the train has left the station”.
Meanwhile, ADC has accused the administration of President Bola Tinubu of making fresh moves to frustrate its planned national convention in Abuja by allegedly denying the party access to major public venues.
The party’s National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, disclosed this in an interview with Sahara Reporters on Friday, saying the ADC’s request to use the Eagle Square had yet to receive any response, while its application for the Velodrome was rejected.
“Not to my knowledge. We applied for the Eagle Square, but they have failed to respond. We also asked to use the velodrome, but they said they are hosting a cycling championship,” Abdullahi said.
When asked where the party would now hold its convention amid the uncertainty, he declined to give details.
“We are not disclosing that for now,” he added.
