Rebecca King-Crews is sharing a health struggle she kept private for more than a decade.
During an interview with Today on April 6, Rebecca revealed she has been living with Parkinson’s disease for 10 years. The 60-year-old said she was formally diagnosed in 2015 after first noticing symptoms several years earlier. Rebecca recently underwent a newly approved procedure designed to ease her symptoms, and she said she is already noticing a difference.
“I feel good,” she said. “I’m able to write my name and my dates, and I’m able to write with my right hand for the first time in probably three years.”
Rebecca, who is married to Everybody Hates Chris star Terry Crews, said she plans to have a second procedure in September to help with her left side. The actress and fashion designer has faced other health battles before. In 2020, Rebecca underwent a double mastectomy after being diagnosed with breast cancer.
Terry, who has starred in projects including Brooklyn Nine-Nine and America’s Got Talent, became emotional while speaking about his wife’s progress.
“To watch her write her name for the first time in three years? Let me tell you, man. I don’t know what to say,” he said.
“I don’t believe that you just lay down and die just because you got a diagnosis,” Rebecca added. “I’m going to keep going.”
