Sean “Diddy” Combs is set to get out of prison sooner than expected.
According to the Federal Bureau of Prisons, the music mogul’s projected release date has been moved from April 25, 2028, to April 15, 2028, cutting another 10 days off his sentence.
The change comes just weeks after Diddy’s release date was already shortened by more than a month.
The 56-year-old is currently serving a 50-month sentence after he was convicted in 2025 on two federal counts of transporting people across state lines to engage in prostitution. He was acquitted of more serious charges, including sex trafficking and racketeering conspiracy.
Diddy is being held at FCI Fort Dix, where his legal team requested he be sent because of the prison’s drug treatment programs and its location close to his family.
“In order to address drug abuse issues and to maximize family visitation and rehabilitative efforts, we request that Mr. Combs be placed at FCI Fort Dix,” his attorney wrote in an earlier court filing.
The reduced release date may be tied to good behavior credits and the disgraced music mogul’s participation in a prison rehabilitation program. Last year, he appealed both his conviction and sentence, arguing that the sexual encounters discussed during the trial were consensual and that the judge imposed an unfair punishment.
His attorneys called the sentence “a perversion of justice” and asked for his immediate release.
Federal prosecutors pushed back, arguing that Combs used “violence,” “threats” and “drugs” during the conduct that led to his conviction.
Arguments in the appeal are expected to be heard on April 9.
