The Police Service Commission (PSC) has announced April 28 to 30, 2026, as the dates for the Computer-Based Aptitude Test for candidates participating in the ongoing police recruitment exercise.
The test is expected to take place across the 36 states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory, marking a critical stage in the selection process.
PrimeTimes Nigeria reports that the Computer-Based Test will come on the heels of the nationwide physical and credentials screening exercise, which is scheduled to end on April 18.
Authorities say the CBT will determine the suitability of candidates for enlistment into the Nigeria Police Force.
In a statement issued by the Sokoto State Police Command, the Police Public Relations Officer, Ahmad Rufa’i, described the aptitude test as a crucial phase of the recruitment process.
“The Computer-Based Aptitude Test is a critical phase designed to ensure that only suitably qualified candidates are recruited into the Nigeria Police Force,” he said.
Rufa’i explained that the duration of the test in each state would depend on the number of applicants and the availability of functional CBT centres.
According to him, while some states may conclude the exercise within a single day, others may require the full three-day window.
“The scheduling is flexible to accommodate operational realities across states, but every eligible candidate will be given a fair opportunity to participate,” he added.
The police spokesman advised candidates to remain calm and await official communication regarding test venues and the list of shortlisted candidates.
“Candidates are advised to remain patient and rely only on information from official channels. Details of venues and shortlisted candidates will be communicated in due course,” Rufa’i stated.
The command also cautioned applicants against relying on unverified sources, stressing that all updates concerning the recruitment process would be released through official platforms.
