Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has taken what appears to be a swipe at the President Bola Tinubu-led administration over growing insecurity in the country.
He expressed his thoughts on the matter recently during a guest appearance on News Central.
Obasanjo was reacting to the recent wave of insecurity which has spread to most parts of the country, especially the Northern axis.
These developments have resulted in the killing of many Nigerians and the abduction of several others.

Reacting to the situation, the former Nigerian leader argued that any government that cannot protect the lives and property of its citizens does not have the right to exist.
He further argued that lawmakers in the country have no right to fix their own salaries and emoluments.
Speaking during the interview, Obasanjo said: ‘Let me tell you, a government that cannot provide security of life and property for its citizens has no right to exist.
‘The elected members of our National Assembly have no right to fix their own salaries and their own emoluments.
“It’s not in our constitution for them to do that. It’s the Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission that should do it.”
