NASARAWA United returned to winning ways on Sunday, thrashing Warri Wolves 3-0 in a Matchday 35 fixture of the 2025/2026 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL).

The match at Lafia Township Stadium was played behind closed doors following a sanction imposed by the NPFL board.

The sanction followed crowd disturbances involving Nasarawa United supporters during their previous home fixture.

Victor Chimezie converted a 43rd-minute penalty to give the Solid Miners the lead before Ngegi Oluka-Efor doubled the advantage in the 62nd minute.

Habibi Alakija sealed victory with a third goal in the 74th minute, securing all three points for the Lafia-based side.

Nasarawa United sit sixth on the table with 53 points, while Warri Wolves remain 17th with 43 points.

Technical Adviser, Mbwas Mangut, said, “I am delighted with the maximum points from this match.

“We are in a difficult situation because we must win our remaining matches to challenge for the title and secure a continental ticket.”

Mangut said the team would approach the remaining fixtures seriously, aiming to win both home and away to reach their target position. (NAN)
