The Jigawa State command of the Nigeria Police Force has declared its readiness to clamp down on criminal activities, vowing that offenders will find no safe haven in the state.
The newly deployed Commissioner of Police, Haruna Alaba Yahaya, gave the assurance on Tuesday during his maiden press briefing, where he outlined his security agenda for the state.
Yahaya said the command would adopt a firm and uncompromising stance against all forms of criminality, while embracing modern policing strategies to strengthen security operations.
According to him, efforts would be intensified to tackle crimes such as armed robbery, cattle rustling, drug trafficking, vandalism, and other related offences.
He stressed that the command would remain proactive in identifying and dismantling criminal networks across the state.
The police boss also assured residents that the command would work closely with other security agencies to ensure coordinated and effective responses to security challenges.
He noted that synergy among security operatives remains critical in addressing emerging threats and maintaining law and order.
Yahaya urged officers and men of the command to uphold the highest standards of professionalism, discipline, and respect for human rights in the discharge of their duties.
He emphasised that ethical conduct and accountability would be central to his leadership.
Reaffirming his vision, the commissioner said his goal was to build a secure, stable, and crime-resilient Jigawa State where residents can go about their lawful activities without fear.
He called on members of the public to support the police with timely and credible information. According to him, community collaboration remains key to achieving a safer society.
