NIGERNAIJAONPOINT have been cautioned about the fraudulent investment schemes of some persons impersonating Peter Obi, the frontline presidential aspirant in African Democratic Congress, ADC, and former presidential candidate of Labour Party, LP.
A statement by Valentine Obienyem, media adviser to Obi, on Wednesday, April 22, made available to Realnews, stated: “We are once again issuing a formal clarification regarding various “investment platforms” and business opportunities circulating online that claim to be endorsed by or associated with Peter Obi.”
“These claims are false. They are scams.
“The Strategy of Deception,” it stated.
According to Obienyem, “A suspect recently apprehended for such activities confessed to security agencies that fraudsters deliberately exploit Peter Obi’s reputation for integrity. His name is used as a “trust magnet” to lure unsuspecting individuals into fraudulent financial commitments.
“Protect Yourself
“To safeguard your finances, please observe the following:
“Total Disassociation: Peter Obi is not affiliated with any online “doubling” schemes, crypto-investment platforms, or high-yield wealth programs.
“Verify Before You Invest: Always confirm the legitimacy of any financial offer through official, verified channels.
“Exercise Vigilance: Any investment promising unrealistic returns while using his name or image should be treated as a criminal attempt to defraud you.
“Do not allow fraudsters to capitalize on public trust. Remain vigilant.”
