Grammy Award-winning Nigerian singer, Damini Ogulu, popularly known as Burna Boy, has dismissed claims that he teamed up with 10 others during his recent altercation with Nigerian disc jockey, Michael Babatunde Adeyinka, popularly known as DJ Tunez.
PrimeTimes Nigeria reports that a video of the clash, showing the two entertainers in a scuffle, recently went viral on social media, sparking widespread reactions among fans.
Both DJ Tunez and his boss, Wizkid, claimed in separate social media posts after the incident that Burna Boy ganged up with 10 other men against the DJ.
According to DJ Tunez, Burna Boy struck him from behind before the situation escalated.
“This N*gga Burna Boy, all signs of weakness. First off, you hit me in the back of my head without me looking, that’s some sucka sht, my boy,” he wrote.
He further alleged that he defended himself despite being outnumbered.
“1 vs 10, and I stood my ground. That’s why you collected as well, when I defended myself,” he added.
However, Burna Boy debunked the claims during a livestream with his colleague, Shallipopi, on Wednesday night.
The ‘Stand Tall’ crooner admitted to slapping DJ Tunez twice, adding that if he had ganged up with his team against him, he would have been hospitalised by now.
He said, “Shalli, no be 10 people touch that guy, na only me. I swear with my mama. If I dey lie, make Ogun carry my mama go anywhere wey Wizkid mama dey. Na only me two slap na im I give am.”
