‘Kwankwaso Has Agreed To Deputise Peter Obi’ – Kwankwasiyya Movement

Peter Obi and Rabiu Kwankwaso

Supporters of Peter Obi and Rabiu Kwankwaso under the banner of the Obi–Kwankwaso (OK) Movement have intensified efforts to secure the presidential ticket of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) ahead of the 2027 elections.

The group said it is working to ensure that no other aspirant clinches the party’s presidential ticket, as consultations between both camps continue.

Speaking in an interview with Daily Post, the spokesperson for the Kwankwasiyya Movement, Habibu Mohammad, expressed confidence that the alliance would produce a joint ticket.

“We are working together and talks are ongoing to make sure that we achieve something in common,” he said.

Mohammad disclosed that Kwankwaso is open to playing any role that would strengthen the party’s chances in 2027.

“My principal, Kwankwaso, has agreed to deputize Obi. He is ready for anything that will help ADC unseat President Tinubu,” he stated.

He added that the former Kano governor is committed to any lawful political arrangement capable of challenging the incumbent administration.

The movement said the alliance between the Kwankwasiyya and Obidient groups is aimed at preventing undue influence in the party’s primaries.

“Instead of going solo individually, we are now putting forces together. We are not going to give in to any primary that is not credible,” Mohammad said.

He further alleged that some aspirants may attempt to influence the process financially, stressing that the coalition would resist such moves.

The group also appealed to Atiku Abubakar to play a unifying role within the opposition.

“We are praying and expecting Atiku to play the role of father to us all so that we can continue to give him the respect he deserves,” he added.
