Nigerian singer Asake has shared the reason he stopped dancing professionally, even though he still enjoys it.
PrimeTimes Nigeria reports that the music star in an interview with African Voices said his decision was driven by his desire to earn more money. He explained that while dancing is something he truly loves and still does, he felt it could not give him the level of income he was aiming for, so he chose to focus fully on music.
“I love dancing so much, I can’t do without dancing, but the truth is I had to leave it because of my love for money because I know the type of money I want dancing can’t give me,” Asake said.
Before becoming famous in the music scene, Asake was known for his strong dancing skills. He gained attention online and in entertainment spaces through his performances, which helped him build an early fan base.
His move into music later changed his career path. He went on to release popular songs, including Lonely At The Top, and grew into one of the well-known names in the industry.
In other news, Asake has declared that his respect and loyalty to his former label boss, Olamide, remain unchanged.
