Super Eagles defender Ryan Alebiosu has suffered an injury and is at risk of missing Blackburn Rovers’ Championship fixture against Coventry on Friday, Soccernet.ng reports.
Alebiosu has been a standout performer for Rovers since his transfer from Belgian club Kortrijk last summer. He has featured in 36 games this season, contributing one goal and four assists.
The 24-year-old right-back has built a reputation for his fearless style of play, his hunger to support the attack, and his overall pace.
Unfortunately, his individual performances have not been enough to pull his team out of trouble, as they remain in serious danger of relegation. Blackburn Rovers currently sit 20th in the Championship, just four points above the relegation zone, having played more games than any other team in the league.
As such, they need to win most—if not all—of their remaining three games this season. However, there is growing concern regarding Alebiosu’s fitness.
Ryan Alebiosu: Super Eagles Star Faces Short Spell on the Sidelines

Ryan Alebiosu was taken off at halftime during Blackburn Rovers’ game against Southampton on Tuesday. The Super Eagles star appeared to be struggling, prompting coach Michael O’Neill to substitute him.
Heading into the match against Coventry, Alebiosu remains a major doubt. Coach O’Neill revealed that the defender sustained an injury during the Southampton clash.
”Alebiosu came off as well; we had to take him out. We will have to wait and see. I don’t have any medical news I can give you yet,” O’Neill said.
”Ryan got injured in a collision. He was struggling with his ribs and his back. We’ve just got to see how he progresses.”

Blackburn’s final three games of the season are against Coventry, Sheffield United, and Leicester City. They must deliver solid performances to secure the points needed to stay up.
