Afrobeats singer Bella Shmurda has opened up on how he almost went bankrupt because of his lavish lifestyle.
PrimeTimes Nigeria reports that he revealed that spending freely on himself and supporting his friends’ expensive habits drained his finances.
Speaking in an interview with YouTuber Korty EO, the singer explained that in the past, he had a lot of money but spent it without thinking.
He often bought things he did not need and acted impulsively.
At one point, he said he was supporting up to ten friends and even bought three cars at once so they could all go out together.
This experience forced Bella Shmurda to rethink how he handles money.
He said he now carefully considers his financial decisions before making any purchase.
He also advised other artistes and fans to handle their money carefully to avoid going broke and facing harsh lessons.
He said: “I used to have a lot of money but I rushed things. I wish I was wise then. I was just buying things extravagantly, things I eventually had no need for.
“At this point, as I am getting new money, I have to think about every move I want to take. I was accommodating up to ten of my friends back then and we were all receiving female visitors. I bought three cars at once just so that my friends would go out with me in convoy. I was reckless.”
