The consensus candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the Ogun governorship election, Senator Solomon Adeola, has visited former Senator Iyabo Obasanjo at her residence in Abeokuta.

Obasanjo announced the development in a statement shared on her social media handle late Tuesday.

PrimeTimes Nigeria recalls that after the emergence of Adeola as the consensus candidate, Obasanjo complained that her supporters were assaulted at the venue of the event.

However, Obasanjo, who contested the APC 2027 governorship ticket with Adeola, described his visit as a thoughtful and bold gesture.

She said the move reflects shared commitment to unity, inclusiveness and the progress of ‘our great party’.

She also said her engagement with Adeola and members of the team was frank, constructive and forward-looking.

Obasanjo said, “Today, I had the honour of receiving the APC consensus candidate, @AdeolaYAYI Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola (Yayi) and his distinguished delegation at my residence in Abeokuta.
