Former Governor of Ekiti State, Ayo Fayose, has insisted that the Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, is progressing with plans to remove Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja as the Olubadan of Ibadan.
PrimeTimes Nigeria reports that Fayose made the fresh claim in a post via his 𝕏 account on Tuesday.
It would be recalled that Fayose had earlier alleged that Governor Makinde is planning to remove Ladoja.
Fayose made the claim in a post on 𝕏 on Sunday, stating that the alleged move would begin with official queries issued against the monarch.
According to Fayose, the purported plan would start with a government query accusing the traditional ruler of failing to attend a recent coronation ceremony in Ibadan.
Again on Tuesday, Fayose alleged that there is an ongoing rift between the Oyo State Governor and Oba Ladoja.
The former Governor added that the Olubadan is being accused of plotting to impeach Makinde, adding that the government would soon release statements accusing the Olubadan of being partisan.
He alleged that the fresh developments are orchestrations by Governor Makinde to prepare grounds for the Olubadan to be queried for being partisan.
He wrote, “Those who are still in doubt about Governor Seyi Makinde’s plot to remove the Olubadan of Ibadan, Oba Rahidi Adewolu Ladoja, should just keep their fingers crossed and follow unfolding events.
“Recall that they denied any rift between Olubadan and Makinde after my making same public.
“But now, they are accusing the Olubadan of plotting to impeach Governor Makinde. They are also releasing statements accusing the Olubadan of being partisan.
“These are parts of the orchestration by Makinde to prepare grounds for the Olubadan to be queried for being partisan.”
Fayose’s latest submission comes shortly after the Chief Whip of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Gbenga Oyekola, denied reports linking him to an alleged plan by some lawmakers to impeach Governor Seyi Makinde.
Meanwhile, the Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde and the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Rashidi Ladoja, have rejected claims that there is a plan to remove the monarch from his position.
