Dawn Robinson is firing back at her former En Vogue bandmates after the trio discussed her recent struggles in a PEOPLE interview.
The singer responded in a nearly 30-minute YouTube video posted March 30, one day after current members Cindy Herron, Terry Ellis, and Maxine Jones spoke publicly about Robinson and former member Rhona Bennett.
In the interview, Ellis addressed the criticism the group received after Robinson revealed she had been living in her car.
“People are like, ‘How dare you guys, she’s living in her car,’ but they have no idea,” Ellis said. “She’s told us multiple times, ‘I’ll never come back.’ The door has never been closed to Dawn. We’ve always wanted her back.”
Robinson did not hold back in her response.
“People keep asking me, ‘Are you going to go back? You know, there’s room for you now,’” she said. “I’m like, you guys would rather me go back to that group just to say that I’m back, but I’m not putting myself back in a situation where I get kicked out again.”
The singer accused the group of repeatedly mistreating former members.
“First, I don’t like the way they treated me the first and second time,” Robinson said. “I don’t like the way they treated Amanda, Maxine, or Rhona.”
She also blasted her former bandmates, calling them “clowns,” “dusty divas,” “bullies,” and “broke down.”
