Governor Ademola Adeleke has applauded Afrobeats star Davido for spotlighting the Adeleke family and Osun State on the global stage during his performance at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival 2026 in the United States.
The governor’s commendation followed a striking stage introduction that featured a traditional Yoruba panegyric, oríkì, celebrating Davido’s roots in Ede, Osun State. Adeleke described the moment as a source of pride, noting that it reflected both cultural heritage and family legacy before an international audience.
In a post shared on X alongside a video clip of the performance, the governor praised his nephew for representing their heritage with distinction and placing Osun firmly in the global spotlight.
Davido, who stood out as the only Nigerian act on the festival’s official 2026 lineup, delivered an energetic performance filled with popular hits including “Dami Duro,” “Skelewu,” “Aye,” “If,” and “With You.”
The performance reached another high point when fellow Nigerian artist Adekunle Gold joined him on stage for their collaborative track “High,” further igniting the crowd and turning the set into a vibrant showcase of Afrobeats.
