Abdul-Azeez Olajide Adediran, popularly known as Jandor, has reaffirmed his intention to contest the 2027 governorship election under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
According to reports, the state’s Deputy Governor, Dr. Kadir Obafemi Hamzat, is widely believed to have been endorsed as the consensus candidate.
However, the party leadership has maintained that a primary election will be conducted for all aspirants.
Despite reports of Hamzat’s endorsement, Adediran, who was the PDP governorship candidate in the 2023 election, stated that he will participate in the APC governorship primary alongside other contenders.
Meanwhile, members of the JAGABAN-JANDOR 2027 Movement, largely made up of young Lagosians, have launched a stakeholders’ funding initiative to raise money for the party’s expression of interest and nomination forms ahead of the primaries.
Speaking at an event in Lagos, the group’s Central Coordinator, Lady Funke Ijayekunle, said the initiative reflects the collective determination of supporters to fund Jandor’s ambition through grassroots contributions.
“This is not an individual effort. It is a mission owned by the people, powered by grassroots participation and strengthened by shared sacrifice,” she said.
