2027: Alex Otti, Abure, Labour Party Will Work For Tinubu – Arabambi

Tinubu otti

The factional South West National Vice Chairman of the Labour Party, Abayomi Arabambi, has disclosed that the party would work for the re-election bid of President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 elections.

He disclosed that the party’s leadership, including Julius Abure and the Governor of Abia State, Alex Otti, have agreed to support Tinubu’s second term bid.

He added that the arrangement was designed to allow the South-West to complete its eight-year cycle at the presidency.

PrimeTimes Nigeria reports that Arabambi made the declaration during an interview on News Central on Thursday.

“Abure and Governor Alex Otti have all agreed in principle that we will support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu because this presidency belongs to the South-West, not to the South,” he said.

Peter Obi Can’t Return

Arabambi also dismissed the possibility that the party’s 2023 presidential candidate, Peter Obi, would return to the Labour Party.

He alleged that a former Minister of Finance and factional leader of the party, Nenadi Usman, is pushing for Obi’s return.

He, however, dismissed the idea.

“Obi can never come back to the Labour Party, because we have an agreement, even with Governor Alex Otti, because of the intractable crisis, because of what has happened in the Labour Party, we have all settled that we will support the second term and ambition of Mr President Bola Ahmed Tinubu only,” he said.

Obi Can’t Get ADC Ticket

Speaking further, Arabambi predicted that Obi would not secure the 2027 presidential ticket of the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

“Nenadi is just an appendage of Peter Obi. She’s only deceiving herself. She wants Obi as our Labour Party presidential candidate, and that is not going to work.

“She should perish that thought, no matter whosoever that is sponsoring her,” he added.
