President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has appointed Abimbola Fashola, wife of former Lagos State governor Babatunde Fashola, as Nigeria’s ambassador to Italy.

The appointment formed part of the ambassadorial postings approved by the President and announced by the Presidency on Friday.

Fashola, who previously served as First Lady of Lagos State between 2007 and 2015, will represent Nigeria in Rome after completing the mandatory induction programme organised by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Her appointment is among several non-career diplomatic postings approved by the President.
