Margaret Josephs is opening up about her departure from The Real Housewives of New Jersey, revealing it was a decision made alongside the network after months of discussion.
“The decision… was not made lightly,” a source told Reality Blurb, adding it was “a mutual decision between her and Bravo.”
Margaret confirmed her exit in a video message. “I have to tell you something that might come as a little surprise to you, but not for me,” she said. “I’ve been thinking about a lot of different things, and I am moving on from the Housewives of New Jersey.”
She added, “I’ve been in the talks with the network and Andy Cohen since December. We’ve discussed it, and I think the timing is right.”
According to the source, behind-the-scenes tensions played a role. Josephs had previously said she did not want to film with Teresa Giudice and her husband, Luis Ruelas, following allegations she made involving her son. “She held her ground and was firm in her decision,” the insider said.
Margaret also spoke about changes in her personal life. “A lot of things have changed,” she said. “I realized I have to spend more time with my family… and just take a break and move on.”
Despite the exit, she expressed gratitude. “I want to thank NBCUniversal, Bravo, Andy, our production company, my cast — the good and the bad — I really do love you all,” she said.
She also teased what’s next. “This will not be the last you guys see of me on television… you will see me very, very soon.”
