Rachel Lindsay is sharing strong concerns about the future of The Bachelor franchise following the sudden cancellation of Taylor Frankie Paul’s season of The Bachelorette.

Speaking on a recent episode of The Bachelor Party podcast, Lindsay reacted in real time after learning the show had been pulled just days before its premiere. “I think it’s over,” she said.

She continued, “The name Bachelor, Bachelorette is tainted at this point. How do you move forward past that? You can’t.”

The decision to cancel the season came after footage surfaced from a 2023 incident involving Paul and her ex, Dakota Mortensen, which showed an altercation while a child was nearby.

ABC confirmed the move in a statement, saying the network would not proceed with the season at this time.

Lindsay said backlash had already been building before the controversy. “People were already mad,” she said, referencing reactions when Paul was first announced as the lead.

“So many people are about to lose their jobs,” she said, calling the situation “irresponsible.”

Lindsay added that even potential spin-offs may struggle to recover, saying she does not “see a world” in which the franchise easily returns.
