Pras Michel has moved to drop his fraud lawsuit against former bandmate Lauryn Hill.
According to a recent court filing, attorneys for both sides agreed the case would be dismissed without prejudice. The decision means Michel is stepping away from the lawsuit for now, though he could choose to bring the claims again in the future.
Michel filed the suit in 2024 following the cancellation of the group’s reunion tour. In the complaint, he accused Hill of “gross mismanagement” and claimed she benefited financially from decisions tied to the tour while he faced mounting legal problems.
Hill strongly denied the allegations when the case first surfaced, calling the filing “full of false claims and unwarranted attacks.”
The legal development comes during a complicated chapter for the rapper and singer. Hill has also been working through tax issues tied to the state of New Jersey.
A representative told TMZ that the artist is addressing the situation.
“Ms. Hill is complying with a repayment plan she entered into with the State of New Jersey to resolve state income tax liabilities,” the spokesperson said.
