Fat Joe scored a major legal victory after his former employee, Terrance Dixon, withdrew several of the most explosive allegations he originally made against the rapper.
In a newly amended complaint filed March 26, Dixon removed previous claims that Fat Joe engaged in sexual activity with minors. The original lawsuit, filed last year, alleged “predatory behavior” and included accusations involving girls “as young as 15 and 16 years old.”
Those allegations no longer appear in the updated filing.
Dixon, who says he worked with the rapper for more than 15 years as a hype man and business collaborator, is still accusing Fat Joe of sex trafficking and workplace misconduct.
According to the complaint, Fat Joe “repeatedly arranged, orchestrated and directed sexual encounters” involving Dixon after performances and studio sessions. The filing says, “These encounters were not consensual. They were carefully arranged by [Fat Joe] in environments fully controlled by him.”
The lawsuit claims Dixon complied because of “the credible and persistent threat of retaliation, including loss of income, removal from the tour, stranding in foreign countries, and physical harm.”
Fat Joe has denied the accusations.
His attorney, Jordan Siev, said in a statement, “From the outset, we have always maintained that Terrance Dixon and Tyrone Blackburn’s claims… were nothing more than an elaborate shakedown to extract money from him.”
Siev added that the revised complaint “only reinforces that the allegations were baseless.”
Dixon is also accusing Fat Joe of unpaid wages, claiming he is owed more than $600,000 for over 200 performances.
