A newly circulating snippet of an unreleased song from Drake is stirring conversation online as the rapper prepares for his upcoming album ICEMAN.
The short clip, which recently surfaced on social media, appears to reference both Serena Williams and ScHoolboy Q. While many listeners have expressed excitement about new music from the chart-topping artist, the early preview has also sparked mixed reactions among fans.
One of the more outspoken responses came from DJ Akademiks, who shared his thoughts during a recent livestream.
“I’ll be the first to say it, I don’t like the snippet,” Akademiks said while reacting to the clip. “I don’t like it, I’m gonna be honest.”
Akademiks says he doesn’t like the leaked Drake snippet where he name drops Serena Williams and Schoolboy Q.
Ak says the bars make Drake sound salty about Kendrick/TDE, but believes the record is just a leftover from $$$4U that hackers leaked. https://t.co/2uJX5tIBKc pic.twitter.com/T25epCl2n3

The media personality also addressed speculation that Drake may have intentionally allowed the preview to surface online to gauge listeners’ reactions.
“These conspiracy theorists think Drake is leaking his own music,” Akademiks said. “Drake don’t want to use the crowd as A&R. He’s going to drop what he wants to drop.”
Akademiks added that the brief clip does not reveal enough of the full track to judge the record fairly.
“It doesn’t give me enough of the song where I can say it’s fire,” he said.
Drake has not publicly commented on the leaked snippet.
