During a recent Instagram Live session, the Baton Rouge rapper accused Kodak Black of spending time in protective custody while incarcerated. Boosie later took the conversation to X, posting a long list of hip-hop figures he claimed never requested the separation unit while behind bars.
Names on the list included T.I., YoungBoy Never Broke Again, Sean “Diddy” Combs, and Pooh Shiesty.

The post quickly went viral, with fans debating the unwritten rules of jail culture. One notable reaction came from Meek Mill, who noticed his name was missing.
“I’m skinny, I walked every yard in every jail I was in and held weight in every jail I was in,” the Philadelphia rapper wrote on X.
Boosie later apologized to Meek for the omission, though he continued to insist that his comments about Kodak were accurate.
Meanwhile, Young Thug offered a different perspective on the situation. The Atlanta rapper suggested that choosing protective custody can sometimes be the safer move if someone is trying to avoid new charges while incarcerated.
Boosie pushed back on that reasoning, arguing that artists who claim a certain street reputation should maintain it even in prison. Thug eventually agreed with Boosie’s point, but explained that, in his case, the move was intended to prevent further legal trouble while he was already facing serious charges.
