T.I. is speaking up about a behind-the-scenes moment from the early days of Gunna’s legal troubles that quietly became part of hip hop lore.
On a recent episode of his podcast, expediTIously, T.I. recalled receiving a phone call from Gunna shortly after the rapper was indicted. According to T.I., the call came at a stressful time, with Gunna searching for legal help and unsure where to turn. “
I received a call from him where he sought my recommendation for a lawyer,” T.I. said. “Without hesitation, I directed him to my attorney, Steve Sadow.”

T.I. explained that the referral happened just days before Gunna turned himself in. Looking back, he admitted he wishes he had slowed the conversation down.
“If I knew then what I know now, I would have made sure he understood the repercussions,” he said. “Agreeing to that plea could bring public backlash and affect how people see you.”
Gunna’s plea deal later sparked backlash as fans questioned his loyalty to Young Thug. Thug addressed the tension last year, saying, “We share love for one another, yet our paths have diverged.”
Gunna and Young Thug have yet to squash their beef.
