Kelly Cutrone is not holding back when it comes to Jay Manuel’s comments about Tyra Banks.
The former judge on America’s Next Top Model fired off a sharp response on Instagram after Manuel criticized Banks in the Netflix docuseries Reality Check: Inside America’s Next Top Model. Manuel alleged that Banks shut him out on set after he told her he was considering leaving the show.
Cutrone, who joined the judging panel later in the series’ run, dismissed his claims and questioned his credibility.
“Tyra boosted him and how did he repay her,” she wrote in a comment reacting to a fan video. “Now he is trying to become relevant by being out there trashing her again.”
She also accused Manuel of being rude to her when she first joined the show, claiming he warned her that she was sitting in the “ejector seat.” “Oddly enough,” she added, “he was done at the end of that season.”
Manuel, who worked closely with Banks before and during the show, has maintained his version of events. Banks, for her part, offered a brief response in the documentary, saying, “He’s a special man.”
Representatives for Manuel did not respond to requests for comment.
