Sani warns Tinubu against French military bases in Nigeria
Senator Shehu Sani, a former Kaduna Central congressman, has asked President Bola Tinubu not to allow US and French military sites in Nigeria.
Sani issued this request on Tuesday via his verified X handle.
He stated, “The French forces and American troops evicted from the Niger Republic must not be accommodated in our Nigerian soil.
“President Tinubu should fully equip and fund our military and other security forces to confront our security challenges. This should be clear and simple.”
Meanwhile, the Kaduna senator has urged Tinubu to adequately support Nigeria’s military to address the country’s difficulties.
Remember how certain Northern politicians lobbied the Nigerian government not to allow the US and French governments to relocate their military outposts from the Sahel to Nigeria?
They cautioned that permitting the US and French governments to carry out such a step would endanger Nigeria.
They stated that the US and French governments have been pressuring Nigeria and other countries in the region to sign new military treaties allowing them to redeploy expelled troops.
