PDP inaugurates new caretaker committee in Imo

It was a breathe of fresh air and galore of great minds at No 98 Okigwe road, Owerri, Imo State as the South East chapter of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) led by Sir Ali Odefa, South East Chairman of the PDP alongside other officials and Chieftains of PDP Inaugurates a 17 Man Caretaker Committee for Imo State PDP.

The South East PDP leadership who arrived Owerri before noon were warmly recieved by Hon Mike Ahumibe and the State acting Chairman, Sir Chidi Dike alongside the members of the committee at the Party Secretariat.

Speaking ahead of the Inauguration, Hon. Mike Ahumibe, who is the South East Organizing Secretary of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) from Imo State, expressed his profound gratitude to the leadership of the PDP in the zone for standing firm on the alter of truth and legality and doing what is right and constitutional before God and man and helping to restore sanity in Imo PDP after the Party has been held hostage for the past 12 years plus.

Ahumibe, described Odefa, who was ably represented by the South East Secretary of the party, Chief James Ugwu, as a man of honour and wisdom and thanked him for finding out the truth by himself and tolling the path of truth for the good and betterment of the PDP in Imo. He extended his warm regards and sincere appreciation to the National Working Committee of our great Party ably led by the acting National Chairman, Alhaji. Damagun, for hearkening to the cry of Imo State PDP.

Stepping forward for the business of the day, Dr James, admonished the caretaker committee to always ally with the path of Transparency, Honesty, Sincerity and remain focused. He urged them to emulate the examplary leadership being provided at the National level by their son, Sen Samuel Nnaemeka Anyanwu , the National Secretary of our great Party and by the special Grace of God, the incoming Governor of Imo State. He further urged them to keep their arms wide open in receiving new members into the Party.

He charged the committee to see their appointments as a call to service and sacrifice for the good and betterment of the PDP in Imo as Imolites and indeed Nigerians have seen that PDP remains the only hope of the common man for Good Governance.

Ndi Imo, are looking up to PDP for a new Imo of their own, therefore, let this journey begin and be fruitful to the Glory of God Almighty.

The leadership of the South East PDP are at peace, unity and solidly with our brother, the National Secretary, Sen. Samuel Nnaemeka Anyanwu. We are with him at all times and we will continue to support him.

In his words, ” With what we have seen today in Imo, this is just an Inauguration, it’s not a political rally or campaign yet these number of people are here to bear witnesses to the Inauguration. I am happy and excited and I am very much sure that the NWC will definitely be happy with the present Imo PDP leadership”. Congratulations to IMO PDP and the caretaker committee.”

“Therefore, on behalf of the NEC who acted in accordance with our party’s constitution, in Section 29(2) (b) of the PDP Constitution (as Amended in 2017), endorsed the composition and Inauguration IMO State PDP Caretaker Committee in the name of the Father, son and Holy Spirit.You are hereby Inaugurated, Congratulations”

The goodwill message of the National Secretary of PDP, His Excellency , Sen Samuel Nnaemeka Anyanwu , who was unavoidably absent was ably represented and presented by Dr. Arthur Bruno Ekwelem, who admonished the caretaker committee to keep their doors wide open at all times as Imolites are determined and eager to identify with the PDP for delivery of Good Governance to them.

He said,”Imo State PDP is no longer an enterprise owned by an individual. It’s now our party. It’s owned by us. Therefore, no individual shall take decisions on behalf the PDP. Decisions shall be our collective responsibility. All the leaders must endeavor to support the the leadership of Sir Chidi Dike and ensure he succeeds” He opined.
