Max Azzarello sets self on fire outside ex-president’s trial venue
A man identified as Max Azzarello set himself on fire outside the court where Donald Trump is standing trial in Manhattan on Friday, with officers rushing to extinguish the flames.
Burning clothes were strewn throughout the park, which had been closed off by authorities, while ambulances waited nearby.
The graphic video, which was shared on the Chief White House correspondent’s X handle on Friday, shows the moment the 37-year-old man set himself ablaze.
The incident occurred in a park beside the 100 Centre Street courtroom, which has been used by officials to corral protesters, both pro- and anti-Trump, as well as certain members of the media.
