Ex-Abia Speaker, PDP Deputy Governorship candidate defect to APC

Former Speaker of the Abia State House of Assembly Rt Hon Chinedum Orji has resigned his membership of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Also, the Abia PDP Deputy Governorship candidate in the 2023 general elections Hon Jasper Uche, has equally defected to the ruling APC
The former Speaker and son of former Governor Theodore Orji said he took the decision to quit the PDP after wide consultations.
Hon Orji was quoted as having said while briefing some of his close supporters on Monday night that the move had became very necessary.
“After careful consultation and personal decision, I have decided to exit the PDP, It’s time to move on with our lives”, Hon Orji was quoted as saying while announcing his resignation from the PDP.
Rt. Hon. Orji represented Umuahia Central State Constituency for two terms 2015 – 2023.
The Ex Lawmaker was issued the APC membership card by the State Chairman of the Party in Abia Dr Kingsley Ononogbu.
In a related development, Hon Uche, the 2023 Deputy Governorship Candidate of the People’s Democratic Party(PDP) has resigned his membership of the PDP.
Hon Uche who was deputy to Chief Okey Ahiwe, the PDP Governorship candidate in the last election, defected to APC.
