A residential structure along Ikpa Road in Uyo, the capital of Akwa Ibom State, caught fire early on Tuesday, resulting in the death of an unidentified woman.
Online sources claim that the woman met a man at a nightclub earlier that evening and went to his house with him.
According to Frank Tochukwu Fidelis, a social media user who posted information on the incident, the fire started at around 5:30 a.m. and destroyed goods valued at millions of naira.
The woman apparently became trapped inside the building and died from serious burns before she could be rescued, while the male tenant was claimed to have escaped the fire unharmed.
Authorities are anticipated to look into the incident, although the reason of the f+re is still unknown.
