Protests in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) have intensified, with demonstrators showing no signs of backing down. On Sunday, large crowds gathered in Rawalakot and several other areas, raising slogans against the Pakistan government.

48-Hour Ultimatum to Pakistan Government
The protests are being led by the Jammu and Kashmir Joint Awami Action Committee (JKAAC), which has given the Pakistan government a 48-hour ultimatum.
The group said that if its demands are not met within the deadline, it will launch a large-scale protest on July 9.
JKAAC also said the sit-in and demonstrations will continue until the government takes concrete action. It has appealed to people across PoK and the Kashmiri diaspora living abroad to join the planned protest.
Appeal to International Organisations
JKAAC has invited the United Nations (UN), the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), international media and global human rights organisations to visit PoK on July 9 and assess the situation on the ground.
The group alleged that authorities are suppressing the voices of local people and taking strict action against protesters.

The Jammu and Kashmir Joint Awami Action Committee (JKAAC) is a joint platform of social, business, student and civil society organisations active in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.
The organisation has been leading protests on issues such as rising inflation, electricity prices, taxation, the availability of essential goods, and the rights of residents.
Appeal for Humanitarian Assistance
During the protests, JKAAC leader Sardar Aman Khan appealed to people living across the Line of Control (LoC) and to India for humanitarian assistance.
He claimed that the region is facing shortages of food, medicines, and other essential supplies. According to him, economic restrictions have made it difficult for ordinary people to meet their daily needs.

In recent weeks, several videos from Pakistan-occupied Kashmir have gone viral on social media, showing large crowds protesting and raising slogans against the Pakistan government.
Attention is now focused on the planned July 9 protest, as observers await the Pakistan government’s response to the protesters’ demands and how the situation develops in the coming days.
