Minister of Works, David Umahi, has said the roads being rehabilitated and newly constructed by President Bola Tinubu’s administration will improve military operations and help tackle worsening insecurity in Nigeria.
He made this known over the weekend during the official flag-off of the projects at Muna City Gate on the Maiduguri–Dikwa–Gamboru road.
According to the former Ebonyi State governor, the current administration is using strategic highway projects to enhance military activities throughout the country.

The minister further noted that the projects are meant to help the government reach its security goals by making it easier to access border areas and better supporting logistics for security forces.
Additionally, he highlighted that the roads would help bring communities back together and boost economic activities in the country.
Speaking at the event, Umahi said:
”These road infrastructure projects are part of President Tinubu’s bigger plan to tackle insecurity.
”When these projects are done, the people in the North-east will benefit because they connect to Chad and Cameroon.
”But the bigger point is that our military will have roads to fight against whatever remains of the insurgency.”
