Trump in big tension as Iran’s missile power reaches new level: Is there a Russia-China connection behind it? Know what makes these weapons so dangerous?

Iran has significantly improved its missile technology, making it harder for even advanced US and Israeli defence systems to intercept its weapons, according to American officials. Iranian missiles are now faster, more accurate and capable of changing direction during flight, reducing the chances of being destroyed before reaching their targets.

Earlier, many Iranian missiles could be tracked and stopped more easily, but officials believe the situation has changed with the development of advanced weapons.

Why are Iranian missiles becoming a major challenge?

Iran has developed hypersonic missiles like the Fattah-1 and Fattah-2, which can reportedly travel at speeds more than five times the speed of sound. These missiles can perform complex manoeuvres during flight, making them difficult for traditional missile defence systems to predict and intercept.

Iran claims these weapons can challenge advanced systems such as Israel’s Arrow defence system, Iron Dome and America’s THAAD missile shield. Tehran has also claimed that several of its missiles successfully hit targets during recent attacks after bypassing enemy interceptors.

How are Russia and China allegedly helping Iran improve its missile capability?

US officials suspect that Russia and China may be providing support to Iran in areas such as targeting technology, satellite intelligence and military components. Experts believe such assistance could be improving the accuracy and effectiveness of Iranian missiles.

Russia is reportedly sharing satellite imagery and drone-related technology with Tehran. Better intelligence allows Iran to identify targets more accurately and plan attacks more effectively. In return, Iran has supplied drones to Russia, which have been used in the Ukraine war.

China’s role is less clear, but American officials believe Beijing may have provided technological support. China is considered one of the world leaders in hypersonic missile research, and experts say Chinese technology and engineering support could help Iran improve its missile systems.

Iran has been developing its missile programme for decades. Earlier, it relied on older missile designs, but it has now moved towards domestically produced advanced systems with better guidance technology and longer ranges.
