Troops of Operation HADIN KAI have arrested a suspected logistics supplier to Boko Haram/ISWAP t3rrorists during an intelligence-led operation in Gubio Local Government Area of Borno State.
Security expert Zagazola Makama disclosed this in a statement shared online, explaining that the operation was carried out at about 3pm on July 15 by troops of the 149 Battalion, working alongside members of the Civilian Joint Task Force, following credible human intelligence.
The suspect, identified as Ali Umar, 23, was intercepted while allegedly engaged in logistics activities linked to t3rrorists operating around the Binduldul–Kareto axis.
Items recovered from him included a Volkswagen Golf vehicle and a Tecno mobile phone.
According to Makama, the suspect allegedly confessed during preliminary interrogation to supplying Premium Motor Spirit, commonly known as petrol, to Boko Haram/ISWAP fighters operating in the area. He is currently being held in the custody of the 149 Battalion for further investigation and necessary action.
Makama noted that the arrest forms part of ongoing efforts by Operation HADIN KAI to dismantle t3rrorist logistics networks and disrupt the supply chains sustaining insurgent activities across the North-East.
