Tolu Arokodare is closing in on a move to Ajax after the Dutch club reached an agreement with Wolves over a season-long loan.
Ajax will pay a £1 million loan fee, cover the Nigerian striker’s wages in full for the 2026/27 season and hold an option to sign him permanently for £17 million plus add-ons.
Wolves will also receive a further £500,000 if Ajax qualify for European competition.
The 25-year-old has been expected to leave Wolves throughout the summer after falling down the pecking order. He also did not leave the club on good terms, with both parties keen to part ways before the summer transfer window closes.
Arokodare attracted interest from Fiorentina and Trabzonspor, but Ajax have now won the race for his signature.
The deal is now in its final stages, with Ajax expected to complete the signing in the coming days.
