A former House of Representatives Member, Mr Oghene Egoh, says President Bola Tinubu remains physically and mentally fit to continue governing Nigeria.
Egoh, who represented Amuwo-Odofin Federal Constituency, Lagos State, made the assertion on Monday in Lagos.
He was reacting to recent online comments by opposition parties questioning the President’s capacity to lead.
The former lawmaker described such comments as politically motivated and lacking facts.
According to him, Tinubu has demonstrated resilience through key economic and governance reforms aimed at repositioning the country.
“The President has shown remarkable courage in taking difficult but necessary decisions in the interest of Nigeria.
“Leadership is about making tough choices, and President Tinubu has not shied away from that responsibility,” Egoh said.
He said successive administrations avoided the current reforms due to associated political risks.
The former lawmaker added that the present administration’s policies were already yielding positive results.
He cited improvements in investor confidence, infrastructure development, and renewed efforts to strengthen public institutions.
Egoh urged Nigerians to assess the administration based on measurable outcomes rather than political rhetoric.
He noted that every major reform required time before its full benefits could be realised.
The ex-lawmaker also called on political leaders to offer constructive criticism capable of advancing democratic governance.
“Nigerians should support policies that promote long-term economic stability instead of being distracted by unnecessary attacks.
“The task of nation-building requires patience, unity, and collective sacrifice,” he said.
Egoh expressed confidence that the ongoing reforms would strengthen the economy and improve citizen welfare.
