“Stop confusing us, allow PDP to die” – Akpabio throws jab at Wike

GODSWILL AKPABIO

Senate President Godswill Akpabio has thrown a jab at the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, over his continued efforts to keep the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) alive.

Akpabio accused Wike of confusing Nigerians with his conflicting loyalties, noting that the FCT minister, a PDP member, continues to work closely with leaders of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) while serving in President Bola Tinubu’s cabinet.

Speaking at the inauguration of Akinwumi Ajibola Street in the Gaduwa District of Abuja, where he represented President Tinubu, Akpabio expressed surprise that the PDP was still functioning.

He made the remarks while acknowledging several politicians and dignitaries present, including Senator Olaka Nwogu.

Nwogu recently won the Rivers South-East Senatorial District by-election on the PDP platform.

“Senator Olaka Nwogu, who, to my understanding, just won an election. I didn’t know there was still PDP.

“I am sure he is somewhere, and so many other distinguished senators, members of the working committee of the APC.

“Wike, stop confusing us. If a party has died, allow it to die,” Akpabio said.

The Senate President added that he would not comment on the affairs of the PDP’s working committee because the party was already “dead.”

“So, members of the working committee, I won’t discuss anything on the working committee of the PDP. Like I said, anything that has died has died,” he said.
