A strange video is spreading fast on social media claiming that a man in Pakistan slept with a goat and the animal later gave birth to a baby that is half goat and half human.
...., shared on X on Thursday, 23 July 2026, says: “In Pakstan a aman slept with goat and goat gave a birth to HALF goat HALF human….SO SCARY.” The video shows a newborn animal with an unusual face being held up by people in a village setting. However, checks by fact-checkers and science experts show that this claim is completely false. Humans and goats cannot produce offspring together. Humans have 46 chromosomes while goats have 60. Their genes do not match, so fertilisation and a living hybrid baby is impossible.
What the video actually shows is a baby goat born with a serious birth defect. Such deformities happen from time to time in animals because of genetic problems. Similar videos have circulated for years, often linked wrongly to different countries including Pakistan, India, Bangladesh or South Africa. Past fact-checks by AFP and other organisations confirmed the same thing – the pictures or clips are of deformed animal babies, not human-animal mixes. No human DNA was found in tested cases.
