The development was captured in a viral video circulating on X, showing visibly shocked students reacting to the collapse.
The footage showed that while a section of the hostel collapsed, other parts of the building remained standing.
No emergency responders or rescue team were visible at the scene in the video, further heightening panic among the gathered students.
The incident has since sparked widespread reactions on social media, with many expressing sympathy for the affected students, while others raised concerns over the structural integrity and safety of school hostels in Nigeria.
