Osun: Davido Talks Down APC Campaign Council

Nigerian afrobeat singer, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has talked down chances of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Campaign Council, causing upset against his uncle and current Osun state governor, Ademola Adeleke, at the forthcoming governorship election.

The APC, as part of its effort to support its candidate for the August 15 election, Bola Oyebamiji, launched a national campaign council comprising of over 400 members split into different sub-committees.

Reacting to the development in a post shared on his x handle on Sunday, Davido who is the Chairman of the Imole Youth Campaign Council created to support his re-election bid, boasted of his popularity which he considered larger than the APC’s campaign council.

‘U wish 100 000 of them NO REACH 1 BADDEST’ He wrote.

Meanwhile, the APC Campaign Council as contained in a statement issued by its National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, is chaired by Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma.

It also had as co-chairmen, Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni, Senate President of the Senate President Godswill Akpabio, and the House of Representatives Speaker, Tajudeen Abbas.

Hon. Ibrahim Kabir Masari, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Political and Other Matters, serves as Deputy Chairman, while Senator Barau I. Jibrin, CON, Deputy President of the Senate, is the Secretary of the Council.

The Council also boasted of eminent Party leaders, governors, members of the National Working Committee, principal officers of the National Assembly, ministers, federal and state legislators, and other key stakeholders drawn from across the country.
