Residents of Ogbomoso were on Friday evening thrown into wild jubilation over the rescue of the abducted students and teachers as they gave the rescue team a rousing welcome.
NPO Reported that the victims abducted at Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo state on the 15th of May were yesterday rescued after 56 days in captivity.
Pictures and videos confirming the release of the 44 victims had sparked celebration across the country.
In the wake of the development residents of Ogbomoso trooped out to watch the moment the troops and the rescued victims passed through the town around 8:00pm.
Video of their arrival shared on X showed the residents and passersby cheering the team for the successful operation.
The rescued victims had since been taken to an undisclosed hospital for treatment after which they will reunited with the families.
