KOGUNAN SOKOTO COMMENDS GOV AHMED ALIYU ON TOWNSHIP ROADS REBUILD.
The former Director General National Broadcasting Commission NBC Dr Nasir Danladi Bako OON, Kogunan Sokoto has commended the State Governor Dr Ahmed Aliyu on the rehabilitation of so many inner city roads within and outside the Sokoto metropolis. For particular appreciation is the re-surfacing and re-building of many of these roads that were last constructed during the military regimes of General Yakubu Gowon and some dating back to the government of Sir Ahmadu Bello and the Northern Nigeria development plan in the sixties. These roads include the inner city roads within Sahara area , J Allen and Buzayye areas as well as Bado quarters road and many others. It is also noteworthy that so many service lanes have been built around major roundabouts along with the substantial re-modeling of the major roundabouts of Mai ruwa and Sokoto Guest inn roundabouts thereby reducing traffic congestion within the metropolis.
Governor Ahmed Aliyu can also go further to intervene in re-surfacing inner township roads of Mabera mujaya , Runjin Sambo , Gidan Dare as well as other roads in such high density areas. Mention must be made of the building of a new airport terminal at Sultan Abubakar 111 airport as well as the facade and driveway into Sokoto city , Government House and Kofar Taramniyya towards the Sultan’s palace.
There is also the need for an appeal to the State Governor to try and complete some inherited projects from the past governments such as the Teaching hospital along airport road and some other similar projects , just like the flyover at Rijiya Diplomat area was completed early in 2023 for the benefit of the citizens whom the projects were designed for ab-initio.
It is expected that the government of Gov Ahmed Aliyu will continue with the rehabilitation and construction of new mosques and new primary and secondary schools across the length and breath of the state especially under the tenacious guidance of the “general overseer” and All Progressive Congress Leader former Governor Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko, Sarkin Yamman Sokoto, Turakin Mai Yurno and Member , Muslim World League.
