Jigawa Governor, Namadi, Suspends N1.3bn Hospital Renovation Project over Poor Execution

Namadi 1

Jigawa State Governor, Umar Namadi, has ordered the suspension of hospital renovation project worth N1.3 billion in Gumel area of the state over poor execution by the contractor.

Namadi gave the directive while addressing newsmen during the inspection of the project on Saturday evening.

The visibly upset governor expressed his disapproval of the work done, stressing that he had demanded a total renovation of the hospital.

“What we have asked them to do in Gumel is the total renovation of this hospital. And by total renovation, it includes remodeling where necessary.

“What I’ve seen is not what I asked them to do.” He said.

Namadi directed the complete suspension of the project as he affirmed his administration’s rejection of the work done by the contractor.

“So, I have asked for the work to be suspended completely. We are going to sit down.

“The contractor is not doing what we asked him to do, and we are not ready to take it.” The governor said.

Namadi however did not disclose his next line of action after the suspension.
